In colonial times, the mountains surrounding Sapa were known as Alp Tonkinese for almost European climate, with the city operates as a former hill station built by the French as a retreat from the heat for the holidays military officers. I decided to open my 18 year old son, Sasha, the art of cycling journey to his first bike. Our first challenge was to put the bike on the train from Hanoi to Lao Cai, then bike 40 kilometers uphill to Sapa.There are many trains from Hanoi to Lao Cai. However, almost all sleeper seats are controlled by travel agents. It is impossible to buy tickets sleeper. Some tickets seats or a few seconds of class sleepers available in May at the train station without pre-booking. Ask travel agents for departure....
