Time to Plant Tomato Seeds
I normally do not plant the seeds of tomatoes, I buy young tomato plants. I've never grown tomatoes from seed. Based on my reading of the purpose of these seeds should be started indoors (or in a greenhouse) two months before the last average frost date. The last average frost date, when I garden is March 1. This means it is now time to plant them in pots. Then about two weeks after the last average frost date, they can be transplanted into the garden. If the seeds were sown directly in the garden after danger of frost had passed, it would be too hot before they matured and ready to fruit set.The tomatoes are cool nights and warm days to fruit set....
